Winston Park Guardians is pleased to announce that our second ranger station is now live and fully operational at the Jan Smuts Viewpoint.

What a ranger station is

Each station is a Call-the-Ranger post: press the button and you are put straight through to the control room, which dispatches a ranger. A camera at the top of the pole covers the spot. You don’t need your phone, and you don’t need to be a member to use one in an emergency.

Where they are

  • The entrance to Winston Park — the original station.
  • The Jan Smuts Viewpoint — live as of this month.

The Viewpoint is a spot residents use for walks and runs, often alone and often early or late. A station there means help is a button-press away at exactly the place where a phone is least likely to be in someone’s hand.

Thank you

This is another step in strengthening security and improving our presence throughout Winston Park. A big thank you to everyone who continues to support the Winston Park Guardians and helps us make our community a safer place.

Two ranger stations. Greater visibility. Stronger security.
